Propellor Girl Takes Flight

Propellor Girl

There once was a girl who's father worked so hard
She had to play by herself round his air craft fixing yard
It was noisey and dirty and such a bore
This little girl wanted adventure, she just wanted more

Propellor Girl

From a locker she borrowed some old field glasses
(At seeing great distance nothing surpasses)
She took a good look around, the horizon she did scan
In a derilict house with no doors she spied a fan

Propellor Girl

Across the hills to the vacant house she strode
If she'd had a bicycle on that she would have rode
But her need for transport explains why she ran
As fast as she could to make good her plan

Propellor Girl

A great deal of knowledge of mechanics she held
She knew how to rivet, hammer and weld
Her desire to travel with speed compelled her
To build herself an aeronautical propellor

Propellor Girl

She assembled a motor with a newly cleaned rachet
That she'd taken apart with a small handy hatchet
She strapped on the engine and tied back her hair
And soon she was leaping into the air

Propellor Girl

But it didn't work out like she'd originally thought
Her maiden flight with many problems was fraught
Frantically the propellor twirled atop her
She flew not like a plane but a helicopter

Propellor Girl

Out of control she flipped and she flopped
Into the forbidden forest she dropped
The propellor, her funny bone and ankle got popped
And that's where any sensible girl would have stopped

Propellor Girl

But she was never a girl that easily quits
So she pulled up her socks and she picked up the bits
Despite her sore muscles she'd really had fun
So she tried it again this time stuck to her bum

Propellor Girl

The second attempt carried her farther
As a gust of wind had conveniently caught her
But it wasn't long before she came down
And this time she landed right on her crown

Propellor Girl

All of this crashing had burdened her plight
The propellor supplied her with lift but not flight
She examined her gear to see where she'd erred
When suddenly to her inspiration occurred

Propellor Girl

She just couldn't steer try as hard as she might
She'd read all the books on aerodynamics and flight
Of all the concepts, theories and things
She couldn't believe she'd forgotten the wings

Propellor Girl

With the wings she could fly and stay up in the air
She could dive, she could soar, and all with some flair
Now she was airborne fun would unfurl
All under the moniker of Propellor Girl
